What recession?

People ask me if the economic downturn has affected the Aberdeen area.  Most people who live here would say no.  Others might say, “what recession?”  It seems like if we didn’t read the papers, or watch the news, we probably wouldn’t have ever known there was a financial crisis.

As a real estate professional, I get to help both buyers and sellers.  In my opinion, buyers seem to be financially strong enough to move into a home they are actually happy with. Not just something they can afford.  And I guess the same goes for sellers. Why are they selling?  To upgrade!  Aberdeen’s economy can support both the new workers moving into the area, and the current workforce.  Our unemployment is low.  In fact, South Dakota has the third lowest in the nation.  Don’t believe me?  http://www.bls.gov/web/laus/laumstrk.htm
